The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation's One in a Million pitch competition was created to provide educational opportunities to entrepreneurs and to showcase some of the stellar startups in the 1 Million Cups nation. A total of 337 past 1MC presenters from 58 1MC communities joined the competition. The final elimination round —at the Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, Mo., during Global Entrepreneurship Week — is the culmination of the competition. The entrepreneur who is named One in a Million in this live-streamed finale will receive $10,000. The second- and third-place winners will receive $5,000 and $1,000, respectively.
